Gilbert Police Cadet Leadership Program

To Become a Police Cadet, You Must:
Be 14-20 years old- Successfully complete a background investigation
- Have not used marijuana within the past 18 months
- Have not used illegal dangerous drugs within the past seven years
- Have no misdemeanor convictions within the past two years
- Have no felony convictions
- Be in good standing at school

Being a Cadet for Gilbert Police Department
The Gilbert Police DepartmentāsĀ CadetĀ Program is an exciting opportunity for young people, between the ages of fourteen (14) and twenty (20), who are interested in pursuing law enforcement as a career.Ā Cadets receive training in many aspects of law enforcement, such as patrol procedures, case investigations, and leadership. OurĀ cadets volunteer countless hours of service to the community and to the department. Additionally, ourĀ cadets work alongside our officers and professional staff, who serve as advisors in the program. While in the program,Ā cadets have the unique opportunity to ride-along with officers in the field.
To become a PoliceĀ Cadet, candidates must:
- Be fourteen (14) to twenty (20) years of age.
- Successfully complete a background check.
- Have not used marijuana within the past eighteen (18) months.
- Have not used illegal dangerous drugs within the past seven (7) years.
- Have no misdemeanor convictions within the past two (2) years.
- Have no felony convictions.
- Be in good standing at school.
