GILBERT PD AND THE 30 X 30 PLEDGE
Gilbert Police Department has signed the 30 x 30 Pledge. We have pledged to have 30% women recruits by 2030. GPD has agreed to take measures to increase the representation of women in all ranks of law enforcement. We have ensured policies and procedures are free of all bias. Gilbert PD will promote equitable hiring, retention, and promotion of women officers.
There is no universal experience of being a woman in law enforcement. Each of a woman officer’s many identities—race and ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability, and more—defines her experience, and often multiplies her exposure to discrimination.
Gilbert Police will create a supportive environment for women in policing in the following ways:
- Recruitment & Assessment
- Retention & Culture
- Eliminating Barriers to Promotion
